Process
i. Listed in the 'Who's Who in the East'.
j. Research of 53 lock stations on the Ohio River resulted in
the placement of Lock Station #6, the
Merrill Lock and Dam, on the National
Register. Buildings are the oldest remaining lock
structures on the Ohio River Canal
implemented by Col. Merrill. (Col. Merrill designed the
buildings.)
k. Recipient of Gold Medal Award from the Society of American
Registered Architects, the
highest award given for service to
the profession.
l. Consultant to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for
renovations to the Feast Hall and Great
House (Rapp House) at Old Economy Village,
Ambridge, PA and the Ft. Pitt Museum,
Pittsburgh, PA. Also Consultant for various
projects at Old Economy and Ft. Pitt for work under
a 5 year professional services agreement
administered by John Bowie Associates.

through Butler County to deliver
Virginia Governor Dinwiddie’s ultimatum to the French at Ft.
LeBouef that started the French and
Indian War. Contract through Butler County and PA Dept.
of Community Affairs.
Planning Experience:
a. Master plan and design of major structures, Monarch at
Ocala, Ocala, Florida. Plan was for
1000 acre recreation community
containing a golf course, shopping mall, townhouses, single
family homes, roads, utilities, and
related work.
b. Master plan for Two Mile Run Park in Brighton Twp., Beaver
County, PA. Plan included an
amphitheater, and an extensive
Environmental Impact study as required by US Dept. of the
Interior and the PA Dept. of
Community Affairs. In 2000, designed additions to the Park area
and master plan.
c. Master Plan and Site Selection for location of an Ice
Arena in Beaver County. Arena was built.
d. Master Plan for Universal Park, Penn Hills, PA. Plan
included an extensive Environmental
Impact study as required by US Dept.
of the Interior and the PA Dept. of Community Affairs.
e. Consultant to the Harmonist Historic and Memorial
Commission on the Historic Zoning
Ordinance passed in 1985 for the
National Landmark Historic District in Harmony.
f. Author of Mars Area Growth Study for Mars Area Chamber of
Commerce. Study adopted by
Chamber in 1979. Study area was Adams
and Middlesex Townships and included discussions
with community planning agencies.
g. Site location study for Buffalo Township Branch of Peoples
Federal Savings. Study included
growth potential of various sites and
the community surrounding the selected site.
h. Analysis of the future growth over the next 1, 2, and 5
years of the Michael Baker Corp.,
Beaver, PA. This $60 million per year
engineering company retained this firm to project growth
trends to their firm related to their
newly adopted reorganization plan. Work is in progress.
i. In 2000, this office accomplished the Historic Structures
Report for the oldest Barn in Western
PA dating to 1805.
