Beaver Heritage Museum
East End Avenue, Beaver, PA

An abandoned freight station was the site for a community museum. Abandoned for over 25 years, the building was in very poor condition, with roof leaks, broken windows, varmint infestations, and other ills. The firm was retained to restore the building and create a unique museum of local history.

Working within the National Park’s services guidelines for the restoration of historic structures, the final design is the best that can be had.

In 1998, this restoration effort received a national design award for a small museum.

The view above is from the street. The view below is of the interior with a new ‘balcony’ that increased exhibit space.
