Laughlin Memorial Library
Maplewood Ave. Ambridge, PA

Our work on this elegant structure began in late 1990’s with the addition of an ADA elevator, and ADA toilet room to the existing facility. The addition was required to use the same stone coursing and materials as the original, and be as unobtrusive as possible. The addition to the rear of the structure satisfied these requirements as well as the requirements of the Laughlin Family, the benefactors of the library since its construction in the 1920’s. Once considered one of the most elegant structures in the US, the building has retained its original design and elegance over the years.

Since the completion of this project, we have provided services for a new roof, repairs to the stone steps, plaster restoration, window replacement, and other appropriate renovations. Our goal was to always conform to the original design requirements. Based on the comments of the Board and Community, we have met these goals.

It should be noted that our work also included arranging for funding for portions of the project from the Beaver County Community Development Corp.
