Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church
Saxonburg, PA

The goal with this church was to fit a large sanctuary and fellowship hall into the small scale residential streetscape of historic Saxonburg. Taking a cue from the other buildings in town, the vinyl sided structure has a small scale façade that hides the 1000 seat sanctuary, balcony, greeting area, and lower floor fellowship hall.

The building was creatively designed to take advantage of every type of material, so that the most economical and maintenance free structure could be built within the requirements of the building codes.

The congregation acted as their own general contractor, and are still accomplishing some of the work. The result is a very finely built structure that those who built it can be proud of.
