Saxonburg Municipal Building
Saxonburg, PA

The Saxonburg Municipal Building was a real challenge. Starting with what some have described as ‘early Pizza Hut’, we were instructed to double the building size, eliminate the flat roof, and create a design that blended in with the white clapboard historic buildings in the town founded by John Robling.

The result is a creative blend of historic references: the roof slopes match others in town; the window sizes – although appearing small – match the historic sizes of other 1830’s buildings; and the flat roof is gone, hidden by a series of gables and slopes.

The photo below left is a before view. The other photos below are after views. Note the water tower in some views.

Additions can sometimes be difficult to blend in. We have a solid history of blending our additions into the original fabric to satisfy the requirements of the client.
